Medela Harmony single manual breast pump is designed for mums who mostly breastfeed and is great for travel or as a backup to your electric pump.

  • Elegantly designed and comfortable to use: assembly is intuitive and the pump has an ergonomic twist handle
  • Features 2-Phase Expression technology

Perfect for:
Adolescent paediatric or adult lactating women

How to use:
Assembling the handle:
Insert the stem (with the O-ring) into the hole on the upper side of the diaphragm. The stem and diaphragm are parts of the pump’s handle. Make sure the oval shaped base of the stem has the right position in the diaphragm. Place the diagraphm into the pump handle. Press down firmly around the entire edge to ensure a proper seal.
Assembling the pump set:
Carefully insert the breast shield into the top opening of the connector. Place the valve membrane in a horizontal position on the valve head. Carefully push the knob on the membrane‘s back into the smallest hole of the head until it engages. The membrane must lie flat on the head. Push the valve head onto the inner ring of the connector. The valve head must be positioned sideways.
Preparing for pumping:
Screw the bottle onto the connector. Insert the stem of the handle assembly into the opening on top of the connector. Push until the stem locks into place. Wipe your breast with a warm cloth (do not use alcohol). Place the breast shield on your breast so that your nipple is properly centred in the tunnel. Hold the breast shield onto your breast with your thumb and index finger. Support your breast with the palm of your hand.
Expression:

Start pumping with stimulation: press down the smaller part of the handle. This is the part with the milk drops on top. Press and release quickly, again and again, until your milk starts to flow. Once your milk starts to flow, switch to expression: press down the lower, longer part of the handle. By doing so, you build up a vacuum that facilitates the milk flow. You control the level of the vacuum with the speed of the handle stroke and the compression that is created. Decide yourself which pumping rhythm is the best for you. Stop pumping when you feel that the milk does not flow anymore or when the bottle is full. Use the stand to prevent the bottle from tipping over. Unscrew the bottle from the connector. Close the bottle with the multi lid. and store the breast milk.
